New picture book and give-away from Dundee author
The fourth instalment in the award winning series of technology picture books for children by Dundee author Hannah Whaley is being released this weekend. Webster’s Manners sees the return of the cheeky spider as he learns about a new type of manners in the digital world. The rhyming story guides children through the boundaries of playing responsibly with technology toys and gadgets, but Webster soon turns the tables on his Dad and makes him agree to the same rules! Offering a gentle but timely reminder to grown ups that they can lead by example with digital habits, the themes of the book tap into growing parental concerns about device use, screen time and the dependence on gadgets in children’s lives.
The release is being celebrated by publisher Born Digital Books with free copies of two other books in the series (Webster’s Bedtime and Webster’s Friend) available to download for Kindle free from Amazon on Saturday 12th September.
The Webster series of books are available to buy in print online on Amazon and in other bookstores, and cover topics including meeting strangers online, using computers responsibly and online safety. Appropriate for a young audience (ages 3-8) they are a perfect tool for parents, teachers and librarians to teach children about digital issues or for new readers to explore themselves.
