What is #SID2015?
Safer Internet Day 2015 is being celebrated globally on the 10th February 2015 with the aim of ‘creating a better internet together’. Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, more than 650 organisations are involved and committed to helping promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children. Find out more at www.saferinternet.org.uk.
How are Born Digital Books supporting Safer Internet Day 2015?
Born Digital Books create picture books and ebooks that introduce children to technology and help them start conversations about appropriate use, safety online and good internet etiquette. It is important to us to support Safer Internet Day as it fits entirely with our aims.
We are pleased to be:
- Listed as a #SID2015 supporting organisation
- Involved in the Thunderclap mass tweeting campaign
- Promoting #SID2015 and the work of @UK_SIC on our social channels
- Running a giveaway competition on the day to raise awareness
We are giving away a signed copy of the picture book Webster’s Email and will ship anywhere in the world to the lucky winner. This book introduces the topic of oversharing pictures online to a young audience, who can count along with Webster as his email reaches more and more people.
